Super Bowl 50: Commuters met with tight security around Super Bowl City

- With Super Bowl week festivities officially under way, many commuters making their way through the Embarcadero area had to go through security just to get to the office.

On Monday morning, people were met with metal detectors and bag checks as they tried to walk through Justin Herman Plaza, where Super Bowl City is set up.

Many ferry riders who commuted from the East Bay were seen lined up at security checkpoints.

"Nobody wants to have to line up to go to work or have your bags checked, just to go to work," said Jennifer Riso of Alameda. "It's good for the city, not good for the office workers."

If you plan to visit Super Bowl City be prepared to be screened. There are four entry points set up which are expected to get crowded as visitors take advantage of the events and performances going on this week.

Tonight Grammy nominated singer-songwriter Aloe Blacc will headline as part of the Super Bowl 50 free concert series.

Other major performers include the Band Perry and One Republic, with Alicia Keys to close out the concert series on Saturday.
