As young as I can remember, I've always loved to write. When I was in third grade, I wrote in my journal about going to the A's game in Oakland and not being allowed to take my cat because no cats were allowed.

My love for writing sparked my passion to be a journalist. Now instead of writing about cats, I love writing about people and sharing their stories. Above all, I like helping people.

I was fortunate to grow up in Milpitas. I attended Holy Spirit School in Fremont where I was a crossing guard captain and student body president. I love Holy Spirit! I'm also a proud alum of Notre Dame High School - the all girls high school in downtown San Jose - where the sisters taught me to be "a tower of strength."

My twin brother, yes I have a twin, graduated from Bellarmine College Prep - the all boys high school in San Jose. In four years, I graduated with a Journalism degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo - go Mustangs!

Both my parents are nurses. My dad retired from Kaiser Santa Teresa in South San Jose. My mom currently works at San Jose's best trauma center Regional Medical Center and Milpitas Elmwood Jail.

I'm beyond grateful to be serving the community I grew up in especially after making several stops along the West Coast. I got my start in broadcasting freelancing for the Filipino Channel in Redwood City. My first story was about the San Francisco Crab Festival because Filipinos love their crab.

I then anchored and reported at KCBY in a very small town called Coos Bay/North Bend (along the Oregon Coast). I remember volunteering to call Bingo for fun

I thought I won the lottery when I landed in Monterey/Salinas. I spent four years at KION/KCBA honing the craft. My coverage on the Giants fan Bryan Stow beating helped my station garner a regional Edward R. Murrow Award.

Then Vegas came calling and I hit the jackpot working for FOX5 where I was a reporter and filled in on the anchor desk.

I received my first Emmy nomination for a story on the teacher background check system. I also appeared on FOX News with Sheppard Smith after a man opened fire at a club on the Las Vegas Strip because he was upset with the club's cover charge.

I've always dreamed of being a reporter in the Bay Area and that dream came true last year in April. I feel very blessed to be working out of the South Bay bureau.

I'm a godmother to three beautiful godchildren. In my spare time I hang out with my family - often with my mom watching movies or shopping at Valley Fair. I also love spending time with my best friends and their growing children! Santana Row is my happy place.

When I report my stories, I think about my family, my friends families and all the people I've met and know in the Bay Area. My hope every day is to do stories that educate, inspire and enliven the people I love, the community I love.

Thank you so much for watching KTVU Fox 2! It's a honor.
